This is great Uncle David!! I am reading AWOL on the Appalachian Trail! You will love this book! He talks about hiking backwards down steep trail(to help with knee pain) and many other complications of a throu hiker!!

I had to do the same thing, in some place I literally walked the trail backwards to the knee would not hurt. Sound like a good book. Carolyn is wanting to walk the Appellation trail across Virginia.
